I am a Native American economist who has taught a range of economics and business courses over my 18 years as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina Kenan Flagler Business School. My Ph.D. training focused on international development and applied microeconomics. From 2017 to 2021, I served as Director of the UNC American Indian Center. I had a particularly significant impact through my teaching and service, earning five teaching awards, being honored with eagle feathers by two North Carolina tribes, and being tapped for membership in UNC’s Order of the Golden Fleece, the university’s oldest honor society. I recently completed an MFA program in creative writing, where I learned to reach new audiences and to integrate new perspectives into my teaching and research.
